A visit from a wonderful professional tour guide from New Zealand

We were delighted to welcome a wonderful professional tour guide from New Zealand to “Hakata-Maiko-Chaya WANOKA-no-OMOTE”!

It was a great honor for us to host a travel professional—someone who connects cultures across the globe—at our establishment, located in the Kawabata-dori Shopping Arcade, a place where Hakata’s history and the spirit of its merchants still thrive.

During their visit, they enjoyed an up-close experience of Japan’s proud traditional arts and culture. This included an authentic tea ceremony radiating dignified beauty, as well as graceful Japanese dance and live shamisen performances by Hakata Maiko. Amidst a modern Japanese-style space filled with the rich aroma of matcha, our guest showed keen interest in the Maiko’s refined movements and the depth of tradition. It was a wonderful time of heart-to-heart connection that transcended borders, filled with engaging questions and photography.
