Greetings from the Roprietress of WANOKA.

Greetings from the proprietress WANOKA.
roprietress of Hakata-Geidokoro WANOKA.

I'm KATURAKO WATANABE, the proprietress of Hakata-Maiko-Chaya WANOKA-no-OMOTE.
Thank you very much for visiting the WANOKA website.

I was born and raised in Hakata(Fukuoka), and from a young age I have been familiar with traditional performing arts, including Japanese dance. Each dance, sound, and movement is imbued with the heart, beauty of the seasons, and compassion that Japanese people cherish.
Traditional performing arts can sometimes seem difficult or intimidating, but they are actually much more accessible, fun, and relaxing. WANOKA was born from this idea.

Here, even first-time visitors can easily experience traditional Japanese dance, shamisen, tea ceremony, and more. We hope you will feel the depth and warmth of Japanese culture through the smiles of the dance girls, the sound of the music, and the aroma of the tea.
We will welcome you wholeheartedly, transcending language and cultural differences, so that the charm of Japan can be conveyed to as many people as possible. We look forward to the day we can meet you.

Roprietress of WANOKA:KATURAKO WATANABE
Originally from Gion-cho, Hakata Ward, he began learning Japanese dance at the age of three, and after becoming an adult, he taught children the basics. He then ran a cafe in an old Japanese house in Nakama City, Fukuoka Prefecture, before working as a professional traditional performer at Hakata Kenban in 2019.
Hoping to create a casual and enjoyable space to preserve traditional performing arts and culture, he opened Hakata-Geidokoro WANOKA in Kawabatadori Shopping Arcade in 2023.
In February 2026, the store will expand, the service name will be changed to "Hakata-Maiko-Chaya WANOKA-no-OMOTE," and a new service system will be launched.
